Pieris conducts goal-oriented strategic discovery research that will further demonstrate the technology's extensive capabilities. The broad potential of the Pieris platform necessitates that the company carefully but continuously marshal its resources to validate the platform in new areas, while remaining committed to its existing pipeline. Pieris, therefore, has multiple early-staged programs in discovery that will either enter the preclinical pipeline as development candidates or serve to provide proof of concept on novel therapeutic targets or modes of delivery. Pieris will maintain a focus on the validation of specific programs to a stage where either licensing agreements or co-development partnerships are most valuable.
